A blue whale. A community mascot. An idea worth swimming back to.
Rachel Mayer put the idea out there in 2022. Now we’re giving it our own community-made chapter on Arc: BLUE—a sleepy-eyed giant with a cigar, questionable furniture awareness, and room in his pod for everyone.

Lore of the Blue Whale...
Everyone knows the frog. This story follows the whale.
While the timeline argued about who belonged in the club, a blue whale was outside trying to fit through the door.
Too big for the couch. Too chill for the argument.
So he went swimming.
He swam past the noise, the recycled jokes, and a thousand people shouting “whale incoming.” Eventually, he found somewhere he could stretch out.
Arc.
Now he’s building a different kind of club. No velvet rope. No minimum wallet size. Just a blue whale and whoever wants to swim alongside him.
Around here, being a whale is a state of mind.

Who is BLUE?
BLUE is our blue whale character and community meme project for Arc. Huge body, sleepy eyes, tiny tolerance for complicated explanations. He’s here to give the community a familiar face and an unusually large one.
Why a blue whale?
Because some characters fit in a profile picture and others need an ecosystem. BLUE is calm, recognizable, and physically incapable of making a subtle entrance.
What’s the story behind that tweet?
In 2022, Rachel Mayer posted about bringing back the Blue Whale as a community mascot and governance token. That’s part of our inspiration. We’re building our own story around the idea, with the original post there for everyone to read.
Is BLUE Arc’s official mascot?
That’s the ambition, not an announced appointment. BLUE is a community project pursuing the role. He has already practiced looking important.

It’s part of his character design. He looks like he just closed a very important deal. The deal was probably for a bigger couch.
